Sheet Pile

Sheet Pile: A Sheet Pile is a length of narrow, hot-rolled strip, usually between 20-25 metres in length. It is specified a distinct profile either during hot rolling or through successive cold forming, done to augment rigidity. It provides an interlocking system along its edges.

The edge profile allows each successive pile to interlock with the previous one, thereby creating an uninterrupted retaining wall. The piles are typically 3-20mm thick and around 600-800mm wide.

Steel sheet pile applications are typically designed to create a rigid barrier for earth and water, while resisting the lateral pressures of those bending forces. Steel sheet piling is classified in two construction applications – permanent and temporary. A permanent application is ‘stay-in-place’ where the sheet piling wall is driven and remains in the ground.

A temporary application provides access and safety for construction in a confined area. The shape or geometry of the sheet pile is a determinant of its strength.

STEADFAST offers various grades and standard of sheet piles.
