Rail

Rail: A Rail is a hot-rolled steel of a specific cross sectional part, an asymmetrical I-Beam which is designed for use as the fundamental component of a railway track. A generic rail profile is the cross sectional shape of a railway rail, perpendicular to the length of the rail.

Most rails are processed from wrought iron as the base. The weight of a rail per length is an important factor in determining rails strength and hence axle-loads and speeds.

Unlike some other uses of iron and steel, these are subject to very high stress and are made of very high quality steel. The use of welded rails is more than jointed tracks. The concentration and density impact their resistance capacity. Rails have classifications such as: Flanged, Flanged T, Baulked, Barlow, Vignola, Bullhead etc.

STEADFAST supplies different ranges and grades of Rails.
